Magkarugtong na kadena
ng matimyas na pag-ibig
na nilagot ng tadhana
dahil aki'y nagkasakit
Ang palad n'ya at palad ko
Sadyang hindi magkaguhit
dito sa Tala* ang aking daigdig.

Ang pag-ibig n'ya sa akin
dagliang naglaho
sa lawak ng pag-unawa
ako'y kanyang nilimot
Naging tubig siya
na simbilis ng pag-agos
Winasak ang pangpangin
Ginuho ang bantayog

Ang buhay kong sawi
ang natamo'y luha at hinagpis
Pagmulat ng aking mata
sa dilim kumakapa
ng magandang bukas
Napakasakit ang sinapit
Aking buhay ulila na
sa pag-ibig sa kapatid at magulang

Pagdumating na ang oras
ng hiram kong buhay
Ilalatag ang habag na katawan
Ang hininga'y malalagot
Dadalhin sa hantungan
Paalam na sa inyo, O aking mga kaibigan.
