Malalayang Himig ng Nakalipas/ Voices of the Yesterdays!
Sa naglalarong himig ng aking baliktanaw,
naririnig ng puso ko'y buhay kabataan.
Sa takipsilim ma'y pilit hipan ng anahaw,
simoy ng dapithapo'y di na mababalikan.
Sa pagpilit lumipad ng naglalarong dahon,
... kasabay sa pagkaway ng natatanging puno,
Pintig ng damdamin ko'y pilit nakikiahon,
... sa aking ligaya, hinagpis at panlulumo!
Sa bulakalak ng karanasang sa'ki'y sumilong...
kapag nakaraan na'y nalalasap ang tinik,
Sa aliparong diwa'y hinahanap ang sambong...
umaasang lunas sa damdaming batik!
Sa diwang nagniningning sa'king damdamin;
masasayang alaala't tugtugan...
Rosas at tinik ang 'yong masasalamin
sa pusong lumilipad sa kalangitan.
Mga karanasan sa lakbay aral ng buhay,
bigay sa'ki'y ningning, kariktan at panglaw...
hanggang libinga'y tapat mamamahay,
bawat ngiti't hinayang... sa'ki'y dumalaw...
A song so melodious which soar unto my minds,
what my heart could hear... are my childhood days.
To every dawn I'd come to face,
This illustrious sunset, I could not rewind.
From melodious hymns to every rustling leaves
... to playing lyres of the swaying trees,
Hence... was my heart... longing to soar,
... to my every old laughters, pains and joys!
Flowers bloomed from freshness of memories...
Soaring the pains of her fragrant thorns!
To the burdens of my Heart of yesterdays,
longing the healing of my yesterdays' wounds!
To my mind whose mingling to my longing heart
Ah! ... to those happy memories of the past
which I could bear those roses and thorns
to the flight of the breeze up to the skies!
Oh! beautiful reminiscence of excursions of life,
granted me but a sparkle, joy and pains!
... whose untill to my tombs, there... with me shall remain
... my every Voices of the Yesterdays
