"Maalab na nga Pangarap" /*Passionate Dreams!

JM Benavidez Estoque

a painting by Fernando Amorsolo

To long for a dream impossible to reach...
To struggle an enemy impossible to defeat...
To mourn for a sorrow impossible to endure...
To escape from a place where heroes depart!

To correct a mistake, hindrance of truth...
A Love so fervor burning, Passionate desires...
To struggle thyself beyond weaknesses...
To reach for a star, nowhere of sight!

This is my fate! This is my struggle!
... to reach my passionate dreams
... even hope is blind
... even destination impossible to reach!

To struggle for a dream! To struggle for what is due!
... without fear, without distress, nor without end!
To die for a desire so blazing
... even to hell for a heavenly cause!

Into my mind endowed... that in my wanderings
... that if I offer my fervent heart with passions, truth, and love,
So was this soul would sing to endless joys
and calmfully rest unto my grave!

And the world would emerge into amidst greatness!
... for even a lonely soul buried with sadness and pains
but the streams in valor of love so awake shining!
Yearning for a star into the midst of obscurity!

This is my fate! This is my fight!
... even hope has no eyes, ... even my dreams are impossible to reach!
To offer my life for the fervor of heart wildly shining
... for the realization of this passionate dreams!

A dream to share! A dream to help! A dream for one's country!
... even there's no more nothing to give...

(*The author would thus claim that this literary piece is an another version/ or shall I call... an 'adaptation' to Man of La Mancha's "Impossible Dream" since this originally composed piece seems to be similar by concept with the latter. It is therefore that the author of this poem would still give respect to the rights of someone who had composed this kind of concept earlier.)

That's a great poem showing the importance of having a passion in life. It reminds me of "The Impossible Dream" from Man of La Mancha.

Sigh! I try to research that "The Impossible dream" that you're saying, They sounds like the same!
Hmm...
What should I need to do?
I may be accused of plagiarism even if I am not.

Help me... do I need to acknowledge the song?

The sentiments are very similar, to be sure, though the wording is different enough that I would not think you are violating any copyrights. Wikipedia has a pretty good page about the song, and its lyrics can be found here.

My apologies as I did not intend to worry you when I observed that the two were similar.
